Four years after graduating from Augie, my college roommate and I had our oldest children two weeks apart. That will always be a special connection. We spent our whole pregnancies comparing notes, and then almost every afternoon during maternity leave, we would call to chat while our babies slept.
So for Dionne's 7th birthday, I made her a twirly skirt.
Here is Isabel modeling the skirt. A flat picture of this skirt does not do it justice!
It is one continuous piece of fabric that requires a little math when fabricating the pattern piece, but that is what makes this skirt so easy to make.
To make it even better I got out my new bias tape maker and made a bias tape trim for the bottom edge.
And since there was bias tape left over, I made a coordinating headband with a dainty bow set off to the side. Just like all my other projects, I hope she enjoys it as much as I loved making it!
