Izzy had a shirt that had stains on it from who-knows-where, so I decided to make into a shirt that could be worn in public again, not just one of those shirts that gets worn in the sandbox.
I took 3/4in strips of fabric all varying lengths, sewed them end to end, gathered them, and then sewed them on the shirt in the popular tuxedo shirt pattern. There was a little fraying after the first washing, but I just trimmed the strings, and it's been fine after the washings since.
The perfect accessory for a 3-year-old. She can't take it off and place it somewhere for it to never be found again.
