Upcycling at it's finest.

With remnants of prom dresses littering my sewing room floor, I felt guilty just putting all of that beautiful fabric in the garbage.  So I decided to "upcycle" instead.  Upcycling is taking a piece of clothing that is not being used anymore and make it into something that can be worn.  The bottom part of this dress and the attached flower is the bottom part of a dress that I cut off.  It took me less than 1 hour to put it together because the hemming of the dress was already complete.  It started out being a skirt for Isabel, but I didn't make it big enough, so half way through, it turned into a dress for my niece, Emily.  I can't wait to see this beautiful coral color next to her olive skin and dark hair!
